Global Art Project -I have participated for several of the GAP Art exchanges. The mission of the Global Art Project (GAP) is to spread world peace by promoting tolerance and non-violence through art. The Project expresses the idea: We Are All One. People of all ages and from all around the world who choose to participate each create a work of art expressing their vision of global unity. The art is displayed locally in each participant's community. Global Art Project then organizes an international exchange by matching participants group-to-group and individual-to-individual. Orphan Art, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization that delivers art supplies and instruction to orphanages in remote areas of the world. The organization's personnel provide instructions and support to the orphanage's personnel and the children to assist them in creating works of art. Orphan Art then brings the artwork back to the United States in order to bring it to a worldwide marketplace, and sell the artwork in various forms. Proceeds from the sales of the artwork are returned to the participating orphanages to allow them to further enhance the economic self-sufficiency of the children and their community. Additionally, the process of creating the artwork allows the orphans an opportunity to build self-esteem, self -expression, and a sense of participation in providing for their own future. I was so fortunate to have been able to spend time with him at his summer encampments. If you are interested you can read some sample articles, order his books, or attend one of the Gathering Encampments that he and his wife run, the schedule is mostly in Europe. Joseph Chilton Pearce- Great Books This author has written some books I highly recommend! I bought his book Magical Child, just before my son was born and reading it had a very positive effect on my parenting all these years. I also was lucky to meet Joseph Chilton Pearce in 1993 when he came to speak in Boston, it is a memory I treasure, to meet a remarkable man whose books have such a impact in my life.

Sudbury Valley School • Book Store. Daniel Greenberg His book, Childrearing is one of my favorite parenting books. His philosophy is for parents who are open to the natural process and authentic raising of children. Also, there is great information books about The Sudbury Valley School where students from preschool through high school age explore the world freely, at their own pace and in their own unique ways. The school was founded in 1968.
